About Search Engine Optimization
SEO (search engine optimization) is a technique or a process to rank high your site on search engine results for maximum traffic. There is two type of techniques required for SEO:-
A) On-page Optimization
B) Off-page Optimization
1. On-page Optimization - It is to optimize the site by its content, meta tags & keyword density. It can be done by changing in its source code or HTML coding. It generates how much your site is healthy for the indexing on search Engines.
Title: This is the first thing to do in Meta tags. The title is the name shows on the display bar in a browser.It tells the users about the nature and type of the site and what information it is providing. It can be of maximum 50 – 60 characters long.
Description: It describes your site and what your website is providing to their customers. Google also prefers it for search engine results. The keywords density for the description should be 2-3%. It should be simple and short around 160 characters.
Keywords: Keywords are very precious for search engines to show a better result. Keywords range for a page should be 10-15 per page. Repetitions of keywords are not allowed in meta tags as it refers as keyword stuffing.
You also need to put sitemap in HTML coding.
2. Off-page Optimization – It is a process of creating Backlinks for the site. There are many ways of generating backlinks and traffic. It also refers to taking all the important measures for ranking high on search engines. Social Bookmarking, Directory submission, Article submission, blog submission, forum submission, reciprocal SEO are important for off page optimization. Before doing this submission you need to submit your pages to webmaster tools.
Social Bookmarking: Bookmarking is to gain traffic from the high-quality social sites. We bookmarked our site on Social bookmarking site to create backlinks. When Google crawls if it finds any sites on social bookmarking sites it supposes it as the quality backlink and helps to index site on SERP or search engine result page.
Directory Submission: Directory submission is to submit your site in a specific category on web directory. Some directory sites are free and some paid. We need to submit title, keywords, description and tags.
Article submission and blog submission: Both these submissions are same but still different. The character limits for both are 500-2000 characters.
Forum submission: It is also to create inbound links by submitting your answers on the online discussions like Yahoo Answers, Digital point forums, Quora and many other sites.
Reciprocal: Reciprocal linking is to create reciprocal links means site ‘A’ link with site ‘B’ and ‘B’ will link to site ‘A'. It is to link other sites to your site so if people search for a site they will refer them the other site too.
